1st  Day: 29th December

Arrival in Abruzzo late in the morning and lunch in hotel. Leaving by Gran Turismo towards the northern part of the Region, the province of Teramo . The countryside smells of flowers and is rich in woods and lush vegetation. In a panoramic setting at the foot of the Monti Gemelli, you will reach the small town of Civitella del Tronto. Nestled on a travertine hill, its origins dates back to the Early Middle ages and still preserves the typical layout of a medieval hamlet. Civitella is famous above all for its imposing Fortess: stretching for more than 250 mt, you will discover each corner of this fort, one of the most powerful in Southern Italy. Its fame grew particularly in the second half of the 19th century, the period of the reunification of the Kingdom of Italy. In the evening coming back to the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.

2nd  Day: 30th December

Breakfast in hotel and leaving from the hotel by Gran Turismo coach. You will arrive in Sulmona, birth-town of the Latin poet Ovid and place where in the pre-Roman age the famous “Confetti” were made for the first time (almonds covered with sugar) Visit to the architectonic complex of the palace and the church the Ss. Annunziata, the St. Panfilo Cathedral, the Medieval Aqueduct and the church of St Maria della Tomba. Free lunch or on request in a Farm holiday in the surrounding of Sulmona. In the afternoon follows the visit to Chieti, town of very ancient origins situated in a panoramic position and which stretches its surface until reaching the Pescara river Valley. Its treasures are collected in the National Archaeological Museum, such as the impressive statue of the Capestrano Warrior, an ancient funerary stele devoted to a proud Italic warrior, which has became a symbol of the Abruzzo region. Later you will take a walk in the historical centre. Late in the afternoon coming back in hotel, dinner and overnight stay.

3rd Day : 31st Dceember

Breakfast in hotel and leaving by Gran Turismo coach and L’Aquila , that was for a certain period Abruzzo’s chief-town and became also the theatre for many important historical events. It was founded by Emperor Frederick II of Svevia. You will see Santa Maria di Collemaggio Basilica, built by Pietro from Morrone who became Pope Celestino V during the summer of 1296, San Bernardino from Siena Abbey, the 99 Sinks Fountain, the XVI century Spanish Castle and the Duomo Square. Free lunch. In the afternoon coming back to the hotel, getting ready for the great Celebration party of New Year’s Eve.  Overnight stay.

4th  Day: 01st January

In the afternoon sightseeing of Pescara, the modern commercial heart of Abruzzo, the biggest city of the region situated between the hills and the sea. You will visit the older side of the city, with the majestic Cathedral of Saint Cetteo and the old fisher quarter, where there are the natives houses of the famous poets Gabriele D’Annunzio and Ennio Flaiano, until the new centre of the city, where sea-front is situated The Ship, a famous sculpture by Pietro Cascella. Late in the afternoon coming back to the castle, dinner and overnight stay.

5th  Day: 02nd January

Breakfast in hotel and leaving for the coming back.
